Psychometric Assessments

Psychometric Assessments are sophisticated tools designed to measure individual difference in areas such as skill, ability, aptitude. They are used for a number of purposes, including: recruitment and selection; personal, team, management and leadership development; and, career management.

Psychometric Assessments can assess predicted behaviour in different circumstances and develop individuals. Where personality and style become more important to the organisation, for instance amongst leaders and managers, the ability to select the right individual to a role or develop them is vital.

A Chartered Occupational Psychologist with expertise in psychometric assessments can work with the individual to provide greater awareness of their self and others, which enables:

  • better working relationships
  • better career choices
  • more considered management of employees
  • identification of unseen personality obstacles
  • better recruitment decisions

A Chartered Occupational Psychologist can utilise Psychometric Assessments to deliver:

  • Identification of personality traits e.g. Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Hogan Development Survey (HDS), Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI), 16PF
  • Identification of values e.g. Hogan Motives Values Preferences Inventory (MVPI)
  • Ability testing e.g. verbal & numerical reasoning
  • Identification of personal strengths
  • Advice on when testing is and is not appropriate & ethical use of testing
